This is my favorite piece so far in this class. I never got out of that "I love horses," stage so I was pretty excited to paint a horse. I'm not very good at realistic painting so I was also pretty happy to be drawing Prince with cubism. I learned some pretty good way of how to fade paint. I'm not sure if its good or bad to paint this way, but Ill paint a base color that's the lightest and I add just a small bit of the darker color till I get it to the darkest one. The only problem I have with the final product of my piece is the fact that I kind of didn't stick with the whole cubism thing. I dappled the trees so it had a texture and I'm pretty sure that cubism doesn't have that, but that's the way I like it. I also don't like the way that he looks mad. He looks kind of pissed and I didn't mean for him to look like that but I messed up and it had to look that way. The thickness between his muzzle and forehead. I made it too thick because he's an Egyptian Arabian and his face is really skinny and boned. Like I always do, I just deal with my issues and get over it cause I can't change it anymore. I'm happy with the way it turned out because the "I love horses" stage is still in me and anything that has anything to do with horses lightens my mood.
